The killing of Anwar al-Awlaki, leader of Al Qaeda in Arab Peninsula, on 30 September 2011 emerged as a big jolt to the radical organization. The incident took place within five months of the killing of Osama bin Laden, the chief of Al Qaeda, in the Pakistani city of Abbotabad in May this year. While the killing of bin Laden weakened the organization as a whole, the killing of al-Awlaki will definitely weaken the organization in Arab world.
