For most Liberians, peace is not just the absence of the guns. The actual meaning of peace goes beyond all aspects of life. To a larger extend, some people define peace as the presence of equal opportunities and justice; improved health care, good infrastructure, food security and better educational system. To tackle these issues, the Government of Liberia launched a participatory approach called the Poverty Reduction Strategy or PRS in 2008 following unprecedented nationwide consultations. The PRS as an opened, collaborative and peaceful roadmap for national development supposed to also provide the opportunities where Liberians can amicably resolve their differences

Tomorrow 20th August in Kar school in Domiz Camp, Iraqi-Kurdistan, “My Future” training course for the Syrian Refugees will begin. The course will take place from the 20 to the 30 of August. The course is organized by EPOS and is financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the University of Duhok and with the contribution of Duhok Governorate.

Welcome to Emmanuel Zawolo Suah from Liberia: he has just joined EPOS Network. He works for the Norwegian Refugee Council ICLA Program as Assistant Project Officer, and his job is to provide advice and assistance to people in land dispute in Liberia, develop mediation strategies and training/seminars for local leaders and government authorities in relations to land disputes, design and implement information campaign on issues relevant to land and property.
