DEFINITION OF MEMBERSHIP AND BODIES - (back to the top)

The Association is composed of founding members, ordinary members, associated members and honorary members.

Founding members and Ordinary members. Founding members are those individuals who have signed the statute of the Association. Ordinary members are elected in the Assembly and have the right to vote. Founding members and ordinary members constitute the Executive Board of the Association and have the right to vote. Founding members and ordinary members engage in the pursue of the aims of the Association and partecipate in the meetings of the Assembly.

Associated members and Honorary members are the physical and legal persons of age, who declare to agree with the aims of the Association, to respect the statute of the Association and/or the norms approved by the Assembly. Honorary members in particular are persons with vast and long experience who have attained acknowledged eminence in the fields related to EPOS. The status of associated member or honorary member is proposed by the Excutive Board, or by the individual who applies for association or membership him/herself, with a two-thirds majority of the properly cast votes. The final decision is taken by the President. Associated and Honorary members partecipate in the activities promoted by the Association. The President can name, upon request, associated members and honorary members who collaborate with the Association, but do not take part in the administration, do not vote in the Assembly, are exempt from any managerial activity and therefore have no obligation and/or responsibility nor rights.

The Advisory Board is constituted by physical persons which are admitted as such by the Executive Board, upon proposal of the Executive Board in consideration of the scientific, professional, representative merit and/or the considerable cultural, financial or capital contributions they can provide the Association with. The members of the Advisory Board are named honorary members, non voting and without any responsibility. The members of the Advosory Board are nominated for ten years, and can be tacitly re-confirmed exclusively upon proposal and report by the President. The board meets periodically upon convocation of the President and three members of the Advisory Board, to provide their reccomendations and/or consultancies requested by the Assembly in relation to the activities of the Association.

Organization Staff of EPOS are responsible for generic office management, database entry and maintenance, organization of meetings upon request of the President and the Executive Board. The organizational staff can also be in charge and organize program logistics as well as EPOS public relations and networking through list servers, correspondence, meetings and conferences. The organizational staff acts as a reference for EPOS members and partners in the activities of the Association.
