The objective of EPOS Barycentre is that of promoting a new concept of the world in which centres of gravity are not only determined by geopolitical or geostrategical criteria o by the balances of power, but barycentres are innumerable and all equally significant. EPOS Barycentre project aims at giving voice to all countries in the world, redefining the axes of communication, adding and creating new ones, improving interconnections, favouring transmission and dissemination of data and ideas. EPOS Barycentre is building a complex network of communication identifying people in all the countries of the world at all levels (students, politicians, journalist, practitioners and others) whom are put in connection with each other to allow them to express and share their views on political, economical, social issues. EPOS Barycentre project has an operational end as it intends to develop innovative conflict prevention, resolution and stabilization strategies though the adoption of EPOS negotiation and mediation methodologies in which all parties involved have a prominent role.

EPOS Negotiation Methodology Project aims at conceiving an innovative theorical and empirical approach to negotiation. Negotiation is rarely analized as a whole, and the emphasis is often put on single factors, components and strategies of the process. This is why the existing models often show a discrasy between theory and practice, which can be crucial and dramatic in negotiation processes especially in difficult contexts. Innovation in this field is strongly needed. Integrated planning, emphasis on multiple objectives, an individual parties centred approach and other are part of EPOS effort for the elaboration of a new methodology.

LEADERSHIP TASK FORCE

EPOS LeadershipTask Force is aimed at training political leaderships (in particular members of Parliaments)  that are created the day after elections have taken place in the world, and other leaderships that have already been created or are being created. It is also aimed at leaderships in other fields, such as administration, industry, finance or other. It is also focused on the development of leadership amongst young people in all kind of social, political, economical and cultural environment. EPOS training combines theory and practice in a dynamic effective way. EPOS Training is EU oriented, in that it provides accurate and exahustive preparation on EU issues, institutions, politicies, lifestyles for leadershipsin a long term perspective.

EPOS Connection Axis Project is aimed at re-defining the concept of connection axis, that has nowadays acquired a new geopolitical and geo-strategic connotation in Europe and beyond. Connection, as a concept, is related to movement, and connection axis implies the fact that along the axes there is, there can be, a movement of people, goods, ideas. Pan-European Corridors, for instance, have been defined on the basis of this ideal concept of connection between areas of the world, promoting a sense of common interest and destiny. Nevertheless, the controversial story of Corridor VIII is a striking example of the impact of overall policies on projects of connection that have a strong impact at regional level but must re-negotiate their role at international level. The importance of connection axes lies in the will of connecting the periphery to the centre, a periphery that can be constituted by countries (take as an example the Western Balkans, which are now surrouned by EU members and whose status is still far from being defined) as well as small towns to big cities, as well as minority groups to the majority. EPOS, which sees amongst its members some experts who have worked on field on the concept of Corridors and Connection axes for years, has the ambition of re-conceptualizing connection axes from a multifaceted perspective, to be able to propose a new long term and wide vision to decision makers, practitioners, populations.
