My Future Course - Arbat Camp, Suleimania, Iraqi-Kurdistan - March 2014

The fourth "My Future" course took place in Arbat Camp, Governorate of Sulaimani, from the 2nd to the 12th of March 2014.

15 professors of the University of Sulaimani and 10 employees of the Immigration Department of the Governorate of Sulaimani were trained in teaching metholodogy in emergency situations by EPOS. Then, they taught in Arbat Camp coupled with Italian professors.

250 students aged from 15 to 50 years old and 7 tutors were selected amongst the Syrian refugees.

"My Future" project intends to engage the Syrian refugees in a training that will be able to provide them with a renewed trust that could be easily transmitted to their compatriots. The course also provides them with the necessary knowledge to make them able to re-shape the role of civil society in a new given context and provides opportunities for their future as civil society representatives. It is also aimed at and helps to overcome discrimination and issue related to gender, ethnicity, age, disability, economic or educational difference.

The course was funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
