Ryabchuk is one of the Ukraine’s most important intellectuals.He is the author of numerous articles and books on contemporary Ukrainian politics and culture and he is also a well-known literary scholar, having participated to lectures and seminars in various universities as the universities of Alberta and Toronto in Canada, the Kennan Institute in Washington, the University of California and the Columbia University in the US and in various European universities.Ryabchuk is also the co-founder and served for four years as the executive director of the Ukrainian intellectual monthly journal, Krytyka.

The Maoist violence in India has recently been a matter of serious concern with the government searching for different options to tackle the menace. The following data bring forth the gravity of the matter. Out of 29 states in India 20 and out of 600 odd districts in India 223 are affected by the Maoist violence. From January to August 2009 there have been more than 1,400 cases related to Maoist violence in which about 600 civilians have lost their lives. |

The recent exchange of prisoners for video showing evidence of their healthy conditions, may be interpreted as an alternative option to pave the way to unstrained relations in deeply rooted crisis situations of the Middle East. Credible third party mediators, not limited to above area, seem to be well suited for conducting prisoners swap talks, particularly when both counterparts are keen to wrap up a deal, but do not have the capacity as a result of institutional limitations.
